Everything You Need
To Know

Our Tea & Quality

Where do you source your teas from?
We source from premier tea growing regions across the globe, including Sri Lanka, India, China, Japan, South Africa, and other regions. We believe in "freshness at the source," maintaining deep, long term relationships with our farmers. This allows us to oversee the process from harvest to packaging, ensuring unparalleled quality in every cup.
Are your tea bags plastic-free?
Yes, our pyramid tea bags are made from a woven mesh filter derived from plants and are free of micro plastic & any harmful matter that could come about upon using boiling water.
How much caffeine is in tea?

While all "true" teas come from the Camellia Sinensis plant, caffeine levels vary based on processing and brewing. On average, tea contains 30–50% less caffeine than coffee, offering a steady, focused energy boost without the crash.

Where is your tea packed?

Is your tea organic?
Our teas are not certified organic except for our Matcha. Every blend is crafted in small batches and hand-sorted to ensure the optimum freshness and flavour that Tea Drop is known for.
Do your teas contain calories?
Most of our teas contain negligible calories. On average, a hot brew contains between 0.04–0.3 kcal per 250ml.

What’s your strongest black tea?

The "strongest" black tea depends on whether you mean caffeine content or flavour intensity:

  • Assam: Bold and full-bodied with rich malty depth. High in caffeine.
  • Lapsang Souchong: Intense, smoky flavour traditionally dried over pinewood.
  • Royal Ceylon Breakfast: Strong and malty — a true taste of Ceylon.
  • English Breakfast: A classic, full-bodied blend of Sri Lankan black teas.
Which teas are safe during pregnancy?
Peppermint and Lemongrass & Ginger are generally considered safe choices. However, we recommend caution with caffeinated blends (Black, Green, White) and suggest avoiding Chamomile. We always recommend consulting your healthcare professional.

Brewing & Storage

How should I store my tea?
Tea is delicate. To preserve its soul, store it in a cool, dry, and dark place (ideally under 25°C), away from the stove or refrigerator. An airtight container or one of our signature tins is the best way to protect it from light and humidity.
How much water should I use for brewing Tea Drop tea?
  • Single cup tea pouch – 230ml
  • A double cup tea pouch – 350ml
  • Loose leaf tea – Follow specific brewing instructions on the product page or packaging.
